How to Optimize Your Digital Marketing

Optimizing Your Digital Presence

We are now in the digital era. Meaning, print ads and newspaper articles will not get the job done when it comes to raising revenue and awareness of your business. And no, digital is not just social media. Optimizing your digital presence goes beyond social media posts and Facebook ads. Here are five tips to fully expand your digital presence.

1. Attractive Website – The first thing someone who is interested in your company (or just browsing the web) will do is look at your website. If your website looks like it was built in the 90s, your credibility will decrease tremendously. As a company, it’s your job to appeal to customers and draw them in. When you have a professional, clean and updated website like The Lockview allows your business to be “open” 24 hours a day. It consistently builds brand awareness and will increase engagement with your consumers. Long story short, invest in a good web designer.

 2. Partnerships or Sponsorships If you want to go outside the box and really increase awareness for your company, partner with a celebrity or another company or take part in a sponsorship. Why does this work? Well you’re not only reaching your audience with new initiatives, but you’re also reaching an entire different audience as well. Leaf Filter Gutter Protection teamed up with NASCAR driver Blake Koch as a sponsor. They are now reaching NASCAR’s huge fan base in addition to the consumers they already had.

 3. SEO to the Max – If your company doesn’t appear on the first page of a search engine, you’ll most likely lose a customer. People want results quick and easy so it’s imperative for your company to be easily searchable. It gives your company credibility and increases your chances of engagement. Barnes and Noble implements a great local and national SEO plan. They are featured on the first page of search results when you search for “bookstore” and “books”

4. Mobile Optimization – People are using their cellphones more than laptops to look up information on the go. Don’t forget to implement tactics that target the hardcore mobile users. Tactics can include: push notifications, apps, mobile banners or location services. More importantly, optimize your website to be compatible with a mobile phone. Take a look at Panera’s mobile site. The mobile site for the company is clean, concise and organized. They prioritized the information so the flow is easy for the viewer.  As the use of mobile increases, so should the initiatives to reach this audience.

5. Smart Social – I know I said optimizing your digital goes beyond social media, but social is still a huge part in increasing your digital presence…if it’s done correctly. It’s not enough just to update your social media accounts regularly. It’s called social media. The point of social media is to engage with your followers and have your followers engage with you. Retweet, share and respond to comments, both positive and negative. Not being social on social media is like agreeing to an interview but refusing to answer any questions. Coke does an amazing job with engaging with customers.

Multiple elements can be implemented in order to have a strong digital presence. Most importantly, remember that commitment, content and creativity is what will make your digital presence truly optimized.
